On October 18, Korea Communications Commission Chairman Lee Hyo-seong visited the site of the opening and closing ceremony of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do to check the progress on preparations for the Winter Games. The KCC hosted a discussion attended by President & CEO of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Lee Hee-beom, President of Seoul Broadcasting System(SBS) Park Jeong-hoon, and heads of private, local broadcasters on publicity measures to increase the public's interest in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Broadcasters in attendance were SBS, G1, Taegu Broadcasting Corporation, Kwangju Broadcasting Corporation, Taejeon Broadcasting Corporation, Ulsan Broadcasting Corporation, Jeonju Television, and Jeju Broadcasting During the discussion, Chairman Lee urged SBS and other private, local broadcasters to produce publicity programs for the Winter Games and to ensure a smooth broadcast of the Olympic Games. Chairman Lee also promised the KCC's continued support. |
