A platform was established for experts from various countries across Asia to discuss and share key global issues and trends in the broadcasting and telecommunications industry.
On the 11th, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC, Chairperson Lee Jinsook) attended the “Asia Digital Communications and Media Forum” held in Seoul and introduced key policies of the broadcasting and telecommunications industry
KCC Vice Chairperson Kim Tae-kyu delivered a welcome speech at the forum that was hosted by the International Institute of Communications (IIC), which was established in 1969 to analyze international broadcasting and telecommunications trends and promote cooperation.
In his speech, the Vice Chairperson stated, “Broadcasting, telecommunications, and ICT have long been the driving force of human progress, but they face many challenges amid rapid transformation,” He added, “The KCC looks forward to engaging in meaningful discussions with experts from across Asia who have gathered here today. I hope that we can promote international exchanges through our close cooperation.”
The IIC is a non-profit international organization headquartered in London, UK, and has 56 regulatory bodies from 55 countries as members.
Meanwhile, the event, held on the 11th and 12th in Seoul, covers key issues in the broadcasting and telecommunications industry such as AI industry policies, digital infrastructure investments, and digital inclusion with broadcasting and telecommunications regulators from Thailand, Cambodia, Mongolia, and Taiwan, as well as industry and academic representatives.
