'i-PIN' is mandatory on the major portal sites

’i-PIN’, an alternative mean of the social security number, is mandatory on the portal sites which have more than 50 thousand users a day, it will be applied on the every web site from 2011.
According to the draft of revitalization plan, first of all, KCC will build infrastructure for the ’i-PIN’ by 2011. They also set a plan that the number of issued ’i-PIN’ reaches 30 million on the 50 thousand sites by 2015.
Firstly, KCC plans to establish ’i-PIN 2.0’ foundation which will be improved from existing ’i-PIN’ system from this year to 2011. Also, Certificate and the keyboard security module will be improved to enable to use ’i-PIN’ through any web browsers. In addition, it will be possible to link the social security number with ’i-PIN’ on online and offline. At the same time, KCC has a plan to build up the Integration Management System of the ’i-PIN’ account to reduce the burden of finding each ’i-PIN’ issuing authority.
