BROADCAST ADVERTISING PRODUCTION AND TRANSMISSION SUPPORT PROVIDED FOR 193 SMALL BUSINESSES
Financial support of up to 9 million won for TV and radio commercials and one-on-one tailored marketing consultations provided.
A total of 193 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with less than 10 employees will receive broadcast advertising production and transmission support.
The Korea Communications Commission (KCC, Chairperson Lee Jinsook) announced on the 8th that the KCC and the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corp. (KOBACO, President Min Young-sam) had selected 193 SMEs as the eligible target for broadcast advertising support through the “2025 SME Broadcast Advertising Production Support Project,” which was open to the public for application.
The designated SMEs can receive a maximum of 9 million won within 90% of their advertising production and transmission cost, regardless of whether the commercials are aired on TV or radio. Also, broadcast advertising experts provide one-on-one tailored marketing consultations to the SMEs.
A total of 768 SMEs applied for this project. Based on the review of eligibility, revenues, business competitiveness, advertisement adequacy, and growth potential, 141 businesses in non-capital areas?including Busan, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Gwangju, Jeollanam-do regions?were selected first. The selection of the remaining 52 businesses was made in sequential order according to their comprehensive evaluation scores.
The detailed results are available on KOBACO website (http://www.kobaco.co.kr/smad).
Meanwhile, according to the evaluation of the 2024 project’s impact, it was found that SMEs that received support saw an average increase in revenue of 10.8% and an average increase in employment of 4.7%. When combining the additional funds of businesses with the subsidies of the project, the broadcast advertising market was stimulated by approximately 2.75 billion won.
Chairperson Lee Jinsook stated, “The KCC hopes the support will offer practical help to SMEs while contributing to the development of the broadcast advertising market and regional economies.” She added, “We will continue to make efforts to provide benefits to more SMEs.”
