The 1st "Promotion for Green Communications Conference" was held

KCC(Korea Communications Commission) held the first conference of "the Council for the Promotion for Green Communications" at Korea Press Center on March 16.
Including See Joong Choi, Chairman of the council and KCC, 21 leaders from broadcasting systems, telecommunications, manufacturers, internet industries and related government organizations attended this conference.
The subjects of the conference were *the carbon pollution reduction scheme in communications field and *the government and industry’s strategy to find the green growth power.
Mr. Choi said that Korea will accelerate going green in all fields of economy and industry by utilizing the world best communications infrastructures and services. The chairman of Green Growth Commission, Hyung-Kook Kim, also emphasized the main role of communications in the green growth.
Afterwards, KCC reported "Green Communications Promotion Plan" and announced that they will set up 19 key priorities in 6 parts which are including a switchover to the green network, activation of green communications and job creation in the green business. Based on the council they will spread "low carbon green growth" over economy and society.
Korean Broadcasting Association also announced "Green Broadcasting Promotion Plan" which implies the green campaign through effective broadcasting facilities and equipment. In addition, telecommunications and internet industries released their green strategies.
In the followed discussion, attendees exchanged their opinions concerning green communications.
